WoodworK School
Most of us no longer get the chance to create something from scratch that will last the test of time. And there’s something so rewarding about starting with a piece of bare wood and making something beautiful and functional that you just have to experience.
Take a moment to imagine the quality & complexity of the pieces you will be able to create using our beautiful hand tools. We will teach and guide you exactly how to achieve this in easy to follow steps.
Our workshop, located in Carrington, brings together people from all walks of life with a common interest and passion for woodworking.
Discover the tools, materials, methods and techniques you will need within a community of like-minded individuals and tutors that are passionate about you and your learning journey. It’s a safe, supportive and fun educational experience.
You will grow physically, mentally and creatively as we challenge the limits of what you thought you were capable of and progress you beyond the level you started at.
Our goal is to develop your technique and demonstrate the many ways tools can be used, even by unconventional methods. We aim to challenge you but above all, send you home excited by your own ideas and the skills learned in the classes.
Term classes are designed around a series of projects that you will create with our support and guidance. As you work through each project you will progress your own woodworking knowledge, hand tool skills and experience and advance your competency and techniques as each project builds on the previous one.

Woodwork tools are regarded as being as beautiful as the art they are used to create. You will gain skills and experience in using various hand planes, chisels, mallets, spokeshaves, Japanese trim saws as well as a range of precision layout tools, gauges and jigs.
Our classes focus on teaching you fundamental furniture making skills rather than making items as quick as possible. To engrain these skills we have designed a number of projects that will challenge you as well provide an opportunity for you to develop and practise your skills. At course completion you will have the skill level to create your own furniture. You will require more than 1 term to achieve this level.
Your project journey will include:
Chopping or serving board
Picture Frame
Mallet
Jewellery/keepsake box
Step stool
Student self designed project (must be within certain size limits)
Materials are included for all set projects. The final student project does not include material costs but we will advise you of where you can source the materials for your project.
We hope to offer short classes at some point, such as a workbench making class. We also offer one on one sessions. Please contact us using the contact page or via Instagram with any requests you may have.
